‘Providing chances, promoting choices, producing change’
Our primary goal is to challenge inappropriate behaviours and develop good behaviours for learning. Fordway also has high expectations that with the correct level of consistent support and intervention, pupils will also make rapid progress socially and academically.
Fordway creates a positive and safe environment for all. Staff support the development of positive behaviours, building pupil self-esteem, confidence and self-belief. Staff develop trusting relationships with pupils where values are taught and modelled. Through an individualised approach, to meet pupils’ needs, staff support pupils to reflect on behaviours, develop strategies and change their perspective of school and education.
Fordway is a child centred school where staff continually reflect on approach and impact of strategies employed. Staff develop good relationships with parents and outside agencies. The pupil’s welfare and wellbeing is always our priority.
