In our KS1 Classroom, we provide a nurturing environment and place a strong emphasis on developing children’s emotional literacy and self-regulation skills, helping them to understand and manage their feelings in positive ways. Alongside this, we support children in developing their social skills, such as cooperation, communication, and resilience, which are essential for building positive relationships and working successfully with others.

By embedding these life skills, we enable children to thrive both personally and academically, giving them the confidence to engage fully in the classroom. We also believe in igniting a spark for learning through hands-on, practical lessons that capture children’s imagination and enthusiasm. Our approach ensures that every child can access the curriculum. 

Our curriculum places a strong emphasis on reading, writing, and maths, with daily phonics lessons for all KS1 children. Afternoon lessons are topic-based, covering the wider curriculum in fun, hands-on ways.
