Mole Class - Lower KS2
In Mole Class, as the Lower Key Stage 2 class, we build on the skills and learning achieved in KS1. We begin to increase the amount of work produced, and in English, we start to improve their grammatical knowledge through engaging the children in a different high-quality text each half term. We use these exciting books to develop a love for the rest of the curriculum by using a creative curriculum approach to many of the foundation subjects, including geography, science, and history. Our maths learning also follows the National Curriculum, but is again tailored to meet the individual’s needs, particularly looking at plugging any gaps they might have in their skills and knowledge.
Alongside the academic learning, we continue to build on the strong behaviour for learning attitudes established in KS1. Each and every child in Mole Class is valued for their individuality and their uniqueness. We tailor their individual curriculum to their own specific needs and interests. Each small step towards their personalised target is rewarded and recorded so that they know their effort has been worth it. Our favourite thing is to share in their joy and celebrate with them as they reach new milestones along their academic and emotional journey.
